Dr Uchenna Oyali is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of English, University of Abuja. He completed his doctorate degree in 2018 at the Bayreuth International Graduate School of African Studies (BIGSAS), University of Bayreuth. Prior to that, he studied for and obtained a BA (Hons) in English Language (Abuja, 2003), MA English Language (Abuja, 2009), and MA Translation Studies (Aston, 2011). He is the Secretary of the Translation Studies Association of Nigeria and Editor of the Journal for Translation Studies in Nigeria. He is also a Fellow of the American Council of Learned Societies/African Humanities Programme, Senior Fellow of the African Good Governance Network, Member of the Linguistic Association of Nigeria, International Association for Colonial and Postcolonial Linguistics, European Society for Translation Studies, and the Commonwealth Scholars and Fellows Alumni Association of Nigeria. Dr Oyali is the editor of Perspectives on Translation Studies in Africa (Bayreuth African Studies Working Papers, 2017) and co-editor of Norm-Focused and Culture-Related Inquiries in Translation Research (Peter Lang, 2016). He has attended several national and international conferences and published a number of papers in both national and international outlets.
