Biographical Info:
o Dr. (Mrs.) Temitope Olabisi Onuminya (nee Adeyemi) is an Associate Professor of Molecular Plant Systematics and Conservation with the aim of providing evidence-based solutions for a sustainable environment through research and development. Her research interest includes identification of plant fragments, Ethnobotany, Conservation biology, Biotechnology, Forensic Science and Climate Change. She is well published in these areas (see the links below) and has successfully supervised over 60 BSc and 15 Postgraduate students.
o She has attended several trainings in Nigeria, USA, UK and South Africa, received several awards including the Nigerian Doctoral Thesis Award Scheme (NUDTAS) 2011 and won several research grants form UNILAG-CRC, LASRIC, TETFUND, Lennox-Boyd, Google, GBIF amongst others. She is a Darwin-Scholar, LEAD Fellow, Fellow of the Linnaean Society of London (FLS) and Institute of Security Nigeria, member of several professional bodies including the American Society of Plant Systematics, USA, Botanical Society of America, Botanical Society of Nigeria, Nigerian Young Academy and reviewer to a number of scientific journal publication outlets.
o She has held various administrative positions within the university and is currently Deputy Director, School of Foundation Studies, University of Lagos; Member- University of Lagos Senate; Member, HRDC Board; Coordinator – Research and Team Lead – Terrestrial Biodiversity Conservation Cluster at the TETFund Centre of Excellence in Biodiversity Conservation and Ecosystem Management; Research Fellow - Institute for Nigerian-China Development Studies; Head - UNILAG FabLab and Team Lead - AIRACC project UNILAG.
