Biographical Info:

My father is someone close to nature he believes in the power of medicinal plants so I grew up asking questions on how do these plants work? Thus, the desire of becoming a scientist started!!! To provide answers and alternative solutions to some life-threatening questions in the area of food /health security in Africa, particularly in Nigeria, blessed with medicinal plants and food products that could proffer cheaper and novel solutions to several diseased conditions in animal and humans. I had my Bachelor, Masters, and PhD in Nutritional Biochemistry from the Federal University of Technology Akure, Nigeria where I was gainfully employed as Assistant Lecturer then rose to the rank of Senior Lecturer. My research focuses on the pharmacological potentials of plant-based products against metabolic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, neurodegeneration and CVDs related. I have published my research findings across different reputable journals. I am a recipient of several grants and awards, also an ambassador of Africa skills Centre, South Africa, Nigeria representative, facilitator of Triple B girls in science Initiative Hub which focus on the empowerment of the female child in STEM. I also participate in outreach and mentorship programs for youths and women at various levels within my community.
