Ayokunle Olubode Ademosun obtained his first degree in Applied Biochemistry from The Federal University of Technology Akure, Nigeria in 2005. He also bagged his Masters and PhD in Applied Biochemistry from the same University in 2010 and 2014 respectively. Dr. Ademosun is a member of the Nigerian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (NSBMB) and the Functional Foods and Nutraceuticals Association of Nigeria (FFNAN). Ayokunle Ademosun became a Fellow of the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) tenable at the University of Trieste, Italy between 2011 and 2012. He was awarded the African-German Network of Excellence in Science (AGNES) Award in 2015. The award is supported by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH) and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS). His ambition is to promote functional foods research in Africa and the development of nutraceuticals from bioactive compounds abundant in Africa. Dr. Ademosun has been investigating the nutritional and medicinal properties of fruits and vegetables and the effects of the bioactive compounds from the fruits and vegetables on some enzymes relevant to the management of type-2 diabetes, hypertension, neurodegeneration, erectile dysfunction and colon cancer in various models (rats, Drosophila melanogaster and cancer cells). He is also developing food products such as drinks and pasta for the consumption of patients suffering from degenerative conditions. Ayokunle Ademosun is currently a lecturer at the Department of Biochemistry, Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria. He is married with children.
