Biographical Info:

Dr. Oyetunde Oyeyemi is a Reader and the Deputy Director of the Central Office for Research and Development at the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo, Nigeria. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Zoology with a specialization in Parasitology. His research activities are focused primarily on epidemiology and control of transmission of parasitic diseases. He is currently unmasking schistosomes proteins which can serve as diagnostic blueprints for schistosomiasis. Dr. Oyeyemi chaired the Biological and Health Sciences Working Group of the Nigerian Young Academy (2018-2020). He currently serves as an Assistant Section Editor of the NYA official journal; Annals of Science and Technology. He was a Visiting Scientist at the University of Essex, United Kingdom in 2019. He had postdoctoral training at the Institute of Immunology, New Delhi, India, and also at the Rene Rachou Institute, Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, Belo Horizonte, Brazil. He is a fellow of the Africa Research Excellence Fund (AREF) Excell Researcher and Leadership Development Programme and a current Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the Old Dominion University, VA, Norfolk, United State. He has 52 Scopus documents and has been awarded a number of international research grants. Dr. Oyeyemi seeks to facilitate knowledge transfer in Africa through networking and collaboration for capacity building.
