Oluwabunmi Opeyemi Oyebode (PhD) is a Senior lecturer in the Department of English, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. She was inducted into the Nigerian Young Academy in 2017 and served as: Chair, Social Sciences/Humanities Research Group, 2020 – 2022, member, Publicity Committee, 2019 – 2022, member, NYA Yearbook Committee 2020 – 2021. She was a Fulbright Fellow at the University of Texas at Austin, USA and a Guest Researcher at the University of Southern Denmark, Odense, Denmark. She was also a recipient of the prestigious African Humanities Program Postdoctoral Fellowship (AHP) of the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) for the 2021/2022 round. Her research interest spans (Multimodal) Discourse Analysis, (in which she has co-authored two academic books which are pioneer reading materials in Multimodal Discourse Studies in Nigeria), Media Communication and Applied Linguistics. She has published articles in reputable journals outlets such as, Journal of Pan African Studies, Discourse & Communication, Discourse & Society, Discourse Studies, and Metaphor & Symbol.
