Biographical Info:

Dr. Ebuh Godday Uwawunkonye is a trained Statistician, self-motivated, analytical, resourceful and dedicated team player par excellence with leadership acumen in both human and resource management. He has an avow interest in the promotion and sustainability of the Nigerian Statistical System with a view to meeting the 21st century needs of producers and users of statistics in Nigeria. He has over thirteen years career experience as a lecturer in the Department of Statistics, Nnamdi Azikiwe university, Awka actively involved in teaching, research, community service, and successfully supervised and graduated both undergraduate and postgraduate students. He was a recipient of the Federal Government scholarship for his MSc Statistics programme as well as Abdulsalam International Centre for Theoretical Physics travel grant at the Joint ICTP-IAEA Conference on Predicting Disease Patterns According to Climatic Changes in May, 2008 at Trieste, Italy; TETFUND travel grant for learned conference at the 3rd Isibalo Young African Statisticians Conference, held at St. George Hotel, Pretoria, South Africa July, 2012; University of Cape Town travel Grant to Centre for Behavioural Studies and NeuroEconomics Workshop on Behavioral Econometrics of Risks, Uncertainty, and Time Preference with Professor Gleen Harrison University of Cape Town, South Africa January, 2012; and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) travel Grant on the use of Dynamic Stochastic Modelling in Policy Making Processes at IMF Headquarters in Washington DC, USA July , 2015. He has over eight years’ experience as a policy maker with the Central Bank of Nigeria in monetary policy design, formulation, implementation and analysis. Also, Dr Ebuh is currently the President of the Nigerian Statistical Association and coordinated the passage and assent to the Chartered Institute of Statisticians of Nigeria (CISON) Act in 2023 after 16 years of unsuccessful attempt , with over nine years’ expérience in management position of leadership with impeccable strengths in data and policy analysis, team building, human capital development and efficient resource allocation and management. Dr. Ebuh was the pioneer Secretary of the Faculty of Physical Sciences Annual Lecture ; Member, Department of Statistics Undergraduate and Postgraduate Curriculum Review Committee; Member, School of Postgraduate Studies Training Committee, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State ; Member of a three-man Committee that revised the Academic Brief of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State; Member of the Technical Committee that represented the Central Bank of Nigeria in the Revised Unemployment Methodology Framework for the National Bureau of Statistics, Abuja in 2014; Championed the computerization of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Systems Annual Review Budgeting Template; Member of a 7-Man Vice-Chancellor’s Committee that designed, formulated and coordinated the establishment of the Management Information and Communication Technology Unit (MICTU) in partnership with the Guardian Express Bank at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka Anambra State ; Member, Vice-Chancellor’s Committee on Students' Industrial Work Experience Scheme(SIWES); Member, Vice-Chancellor’s Committee that digitized the Post-University Matriculation Examination of new students at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka; Conceptualized and championed the Annual Nigerian Statistical Association Competition for Undergraduate Students in Statistics in partnership with the National Mathematical Centre, Abuja.
He is a fellow of the Nigerian Statistical Association, fellow of the African Scientific Institute, member of the American Consumers Opinion, member of the Nigerian Institute of Management, member of the African Technology Policy Studies Network etc. He is a data Scientist with a BSc, MSc and Ph. D degrees all in Statistics as well as an MBA in Management, with good interpersonal skills, analytical mind, and result-oriented. His areas of research are Econometrics, Computational and Applied Statistics. He is a consultant in data analysis and had consulted for both local and international organizations. He is well published in cutting edge peer reviewed journals within and outside the country, and a resource person in the use of statistical software. He is happily married and blessed with children.
