Emmanuel Iyayi UNUABONAH is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Sciences, Faculty of Natural Sciences at Redeemers University in Nigeria. His research is focused on the development and characterization of functional composite materials from local materials and agrowastes through processes that reduces/eliminate the use of toxic chemicals. The application of these materials is in the remediation of polluted environments. He has won several national and international awards. He is the Founding President of the Nigerian Young Academy. He is also an alumnus of the TWAS Young Affiliate program and of the Global Young Academy (GYA). He is a Fellow of the African Science Leadership Program (ASLP). He is currently the Director of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance, Redeemer’s University and also the Director of the African Centre of Excellence for Water and Environmental Research (ACEWATER). Emmanuel is an Editorial board member of the materials section of Heliyon. He is on the editorial board of Green Chemistry Letters and Reviews (GCLR) to inspire more research into the development of feasible, affordable and efficient green chemistry techniques for solving global environmental challenges.
