Biographical Info:
Prof. Nwinyi is from Nawfia in Njikoka Local Government of Anambra State. Prof. Nwinyi (MIPAN, MNIFST) has established himself both as an academic and researcher in the areas of Environmental Microbiology and Public Health research. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, in 1998 and Master’s degree in Microbiology in 2003 from University of Lagos, Nigeria. His dissertation was entitled: Isolation and characterization of soil bacteria (Rhodococcus) capable of utilizing aniline as carbon source. In 2012, Prof. Nwinyi obtained his Doctoral degree in Microbiology from Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria with research focus on biodegradation of polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons. The doctoral thesis was titled: Molecular and Physiological studies on bacterial degradation of polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons.

2021: 2nd Prize National Winner for 2021 Raw Materials Research and Development Council and the Polymer Institute of Nigeria with the theme of the year’s award “Polymer in Extractive Industries: Prospects and Challenges My innovative research paper tagged “Morphological and Biochemical characterization of Biosurfactant producing bacteria from diesel contaminated soil” won the 300,000 naira prize.
