Biographical Info:

Dr. Atolani,Olubunmi, is a Natural Products/Medicinal Chemist at the Department of Chemistry, University of Ilorin, Ilorin. He is one of the pioneer fellows of the prestigious and renowned Nigerian Young Academy (NYA) where he was the publicity secretary between 2013 and 2015. He has excellent communication skills while his particular strength lies in capacity building and mentoring of younger academics/researchers.

Academically, he has B.Sc. and M.Sc. Chemistry obtained in 2003 and 2007 respectively. He obtained his PhD in Chemistry (2013) from the University of Ilorin, Ilorin. His current research interest is in Chemoinformatic applications of tools for drug discovery and development in disease conditions as well as green cosmeceuticals exploration using underutilised tropical seeds. He is also a Scientometric researcher with reputable peer-reviewed output to his credit.

He has several postdoctoral research trainings and he is a Principal Investigator (PI) in various research groups that has won many competitive research grants, awards such as Deutsche-Forschungsgemeinschaft-Germany, UNESCO, TWAS-DFG, TWAS-ICCBS, TWAS-CIIT, Seeding Labs, EACR, TETFund, Raw Material grants etc. He has been a presenter and keynote speaker at many national and international academic research forums in Nigeria, Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Ghana, Niger Republic, Kenya, Pakistan and USA, etc. He has authored overeighty (80) peer-reviewed journal articles, books and chapters.

He is a member of reputable national and international professional and academic bodies such as ACS, RSC, EACR, ICCON, CSN, NYA.
